Masaan, Raazi, Sanju, and now Manmarziyan — boy next door Vicky Kaushal has wowed the audience with his acting skills in every movie. And the story of Vicky’s journey into Bollywood will surely melt your heart.
Despite having an offer letter from an IT firm, the Raazi actor had a different plan. Recollecting those days, he shared the story in a post for Humans of Bombay. “During college, I decided to interview for an IT job just for the thrill of it. I wanted to experience the ‘nervousness’–wearing a tie & showing your resumé. I already knew that I wasn’t going into that profession, even when I got a job offer.”
Vicky was determined to become an actor despite having financial problems. He said, “That’s why when I told him (father) I wanted to act – he said to be sure. Acting as a profession couldn’t be a ‘?’ for me. I needed to put 120% & not have a back up waiting. So I tore up that offer letter from the job & set out for auditions.”
And the proud moment for Vicky’s father was after Masaan was released. “Finally Masaan released in 2015. And that’s when my dad saw my performance on a big screen. He was really proud — when he got a phone call from one of his friends – saying ‘Vicky ke papa’ He called me in 10 mins saying ‘you know what happened? Someone called me Vicky’s dad today!”
On the work front, he was last seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan and has Karan Johar’s Takht in his kitty.
